Thinking as a Pedagogical Strategy - PEP
Thinking as a Pedagogical Strategy is part of the VESS Educational Model’s proposal.
Harvard University is telling us that in order to learn we have to understand and to understand we have to generate some thinking processes with our students that go beyond the memorization of curricular contents.
We come from an educational model focused exclusively on memorization and the research in education is telling us that we forget 90% of the information that we receive throughout our school life.
This is the reason why VESS is committed to Thinking as a Pedagogical Strategy. Our teachers implement in the classroom a series of strategies (visible thinking, the theory of constraints, concept maps,…) to help on the development of those mental processes that will lead our students to real and lasting learning.
